Pixel Lineage Tier List (October 2026)
Editorial contact: Raymond
The Pixel Lineage tier list gathers every race and every class onto one S-to-D board. Each placement is explained from the documented bonuses and notes behind it, and the page shows why Race Evolution moved the meta on from rarity being the only standard. Rankings verified October 14, 2026.
How the Pixel Lineage tier list is built
Two sub-boards make up this page: one for races and one for classes. Each entry is sorted by the tier recorded in the underlying data, and the sentence next to it comes from that entry’s own tagline, notes and best-for fields rather than from a generic description.
The bands compare how an entry performs in the situation its sources describe, not how rare it is. An S entry is a top pick for the role it is built around; a D entry is either a reroll target or a pick that only rewards a narrow, specific playstyle. Use the boards below to shortlist the best races and the best classes for your save, and remember that a meta snapshot goes stale the moment a new act or event lands.
When you read the boards, remember that a top-tier race is not automatically your best race: each placement assumes the class it is usually paired with, so the best race for one build can sit in the middle of the board in another. The same logic runs through every class rating here — the best class for a new save is rarely the best class for an optimised boss run. We keep the race tier list and the class tier list on the same page so you can check the pairing rather than trusting either board on its own, and we rebuild both whenever a patch shifts the meta.
Treat the rating as a snapshot of the current meta rather than a permanent verdict, and treat rarity as the odds of rolling an entry rather than a measure of its strength. When a patch changes the meta, we move placements in the race tier list and the class tier list together and note the shift beside the entry, so a race or class that climbs does so for a stated reason instead of a silent re-rank.
Pixel Lineage tier list — every race and class from S to D
The overview below places every race and class on the same tier rows so you can see the whole board at once. The detailed boards that follow repeat the same placements with the reason behind each one. If you only need a single answer, start with the best race for sustain builds and the best class for a first save, then read the reasoning behind each placement. Every row on this overview comes straight from the race tier list and the class tier list further down the page, so the two detailed boards are the source this summary is built from.
| Tier | Races | Classes |
|---|---|---|
| S | Nightborne, Celestine, Vesper | Warrior, Archer |
| A | Seraph, Sylvan, Dullahan | Fist |
| B | Tideborn, Ashborn, Stonekin | Mage |
| C | Mushroom, Slime, Dwarf | Bard |
| D | Human, Goblin | Thief |
Pixel Lineage race tier list (S to D)
Each race card shows its tier, rarity and roll chance beside the reason for the placement. The event-only Dullahan is included and labelled, but it is not part of the rollable pool, so it never appears from a Race Spin.
Sustain engine that never stops healing
Ranked S by Destructoid after the Race EVO update. The per-move heal cap matters more than the headline 15% on hard-hitting builds.
0.72%- Solo runs
- Boss sustain
Flat crit, dodge and magic in one package
The most commonly recommended Mythic roll because the bonuses apply to any damage-focused class.
1.45%- Magic builds
- Crit builds
Rare-tier magic burst that punches above its rarity
The clearest example of the Race EVO update making a Rare race competitive: you do not need a Mythic roll for a magic build.
5.8%- Magic burst
- Mage and Bard builds
Party-wide damage reduction and stronger healing
Best when you play with other people, because Angelic Blessing covers the whole party rather than just you.
0.72%- Co-op parties
- Support builds
Summoned fairy ally plus nature damage
Ranked A by Destructoid. The build is narrow — it wants nature damage support rather than general stats.
7.25%- Nature damage builds
- Support with damage
Halloween event race with an area burst skill
Not in the roll pool. It is bought from the Candy Witch's stall for 10,000 Candy during the Halloween event, so it disappears from the shop when the event ends.
event-only- Any class
- Finishing low-HP bosses
Free healing at the start of every turn
A natural first tank: the passive healing runs without any input, so it forgives early mistakes.
0.72%- Beginner tanking
- Debuff-heavy fights
Cheap attack and HP stack
Sources disagree on the exact HP figure: one guide lists +2% max HP while the tier-list tables list +8% max HP. Treat the attack bonus as the reliable part and re-check the HP value in game.
9.42%- Attack builds on a budget
- Fist builds
Best beginner race for Fist builds
Sources list +15% or +15 percentage points on Fist attacks; either way the bonus only pays off if you actually play Fist.
7.97%- Fist class
- Early HP buffer
Retaliation poison when you get hit
The trigger condition is the problem: you only get value while taking damage, so it scales badly as your build improves.
4.35%- Tanky poison builds
- Multiplayer front line
Blunt resistance with a fire weakness
The fire weakness is a real cost, not a footnote: check which bosses deal fire damage before committing.
6.52%- Melee-heavy zones
- Between-fight recovery
Plain HP and defence, no drawback
Ranked below Slime by Destructoid because it trades the sustain and blunt resistance for a smaller, safer stat package.
8.7%- Safe early holds
- Players avoiding downside races
Default roll — levels your class faster
More than a third of all rolls are Human. It is not a dead roll — the Class Mastery bonus is real — but it does not scale into the late game.
37.68%- Leveling a new class
- Class Mastery farming
Farming race — more Gold, more bonus loot
Sources disagree on the bonus loot chance (3% versus 6%). Only worth holding if you can swap to it for farming, since the combat value is the lowest in the pool.
8.7%- Gold farming
- Loot farming runs
The drop rate and evolution notes behind each placement in this race tier list are collected on the race drop rates page, alongside the full stat blocks.
Pixel Lineage class tier list (S to D)
Class placements weigh progression and how punishing a class is to learn, not damage alone. That is why the hardest melee class sits in A while a high-damage class with no defence lands in D.
Swords, axes and cleavers
The default recommendation for a first save. Its simpler attack pattern leaves you free to learn the combat system instead of the class.
Role: Front-line melee with balanced attack and defence
Bows
Ranked S alongside Warrior. Ranged positioning lowers the cost of misreading an enemy's attack prompt.
Role: Ranged damage with high speed
Knuckles, gauntlets and hand wraps
Ranked A. Stonekin is the race that most directly rewards this class, since its bonus only applies to Fist attacks.
Role: Close-range bruiser that tanks what it hits
Staves and sceptres
The clearest example of a class where the race choice matters: Vesper reaches near-30% extra magic at full evolution.
Role: Magic damage carry with a slow start
Lutes and lyres
Ranked C because most of its value only pays out when someone else is in the run to benefit.
Role: Support and self-buffing
Daggers and kunai
Ranked D for progression, not for damage: the class works if you already dodge reliably, and the three-Life system makes that expensive to learn.
Role: Speed and burst with no defence
Difficulty labels, weapon families and the role reasoning behind this class tier list are covered in more detail on the class roles and difficulty page.
Race Evolution changed the Pixel Lineage race ranking
Before Race Evolution, the ranking broadly followed rarity: the rarer the roll, the higher it sat. The update changes that, because evolution scales the bonuses a race already has rather than adding a fixed amount to everyone.
The clearest example is Vesper, a Rare race ranked beside the Mythic picks for magic builds once its magic bonus approaches its full evolution. At the other end, a Common roll such as Human stays in D because its kit is progression speed rather than combat power, and evolution does not close that damage gap.
That is why this board is read by role and build rather than by rarity. To see the odds of actually landing a target, use the Race Spin calculator and the codes page for free spins.

FAQ
What is the best race in the Pixel Lineage tier list?
Nightborne and Celestine share the top of the race board for sustain and balanced damage, and the Rare race Vesper now ranks beside them for magic builds. The best pick still depends on your class, so read the reason beside each placement rather than the letter alone.
What is the best class in Pixel Lineage?
Warrior and Archer are ranked S: Warrior is the most forgiving melee class and Archer trades some defence for ranged positioning. Fist is the strongest class that is genuinely hard to learn, which is why it sits in A rather than S.
Does the Pixel Lineage tier list follow rarity?
No. Rarity sets how often a race appears, while tier measures how it performs. After the Race Evolution update a Rare race such as Vesper can sit in the same band as the Mythic rolls, so rarity is a starting point rather than the verdict.
Why is Thief ranked D in the class list?
The placement reflects progression, not raw damage. Thief is a fast glass cannon, but with no defence and a three-Life death rule a single missed dodge is expensive, so it ranks low for anyone who is still learning the quick-time event timing.
How often does the Pixel Lineage tier list change?
Rankings move when the dated sources behind them change, most recently with the Race Evolution update. The verification date on this page shows which version of the data the placements were built from; treat any later balance change as a reason to re-check.
Are these official Pixel Lineage rankings?
No. These bands summarise independent community rankings rather than an official developer list. Where sources disagree, the disagreement is left visible instead of being flattened into a single number.
