How to play Pixel Lineage on Roblox without guessing: the run loop, the quick-time event combat, Energy and the three-Life rule, and the order in which Race Spins, Talent Spins and forging open up. Reviewed October 14, 2026. Where the sources do not publish an input or a number, this page says so instead of filling the gap.
Every session follows the same five beats. The numbers behind them change as you progress, but the shape of a run does not, so learning this loop once covers the whole game.
Step 1
Pick Solo or Multiplayer and choose Normal, Hard or Nightmare before you leave the town. Difficulty changes both the risk and the quality of drops.
Step 2
Combat is turn-based but you still act: attacks and dodges resolve through quick-time event prompts, so the fight is decided by whether you hit the prompt rather than by a passive roll.
Step 3
Skills cost Energy and then go on cooldown. Dullahan's Headless Ride is documented as 4 energy with a 5-turn cooldown, which is the clearest example of the cost notation.
Step 4
Enemies drop equipment at Rare, Epic and Legendary levels and bosses drop better. Materials feed the Blacksmith and the Auction House.
Step 5
Return Home in the bottom-left corner exits the run and keeps the character. Walking out is cheaper than losing a Life to a fight you cannot win.
Pixel Lineage runs on Roblox, which is playable on PC, mobile and console. What this page cannot honestly do is print a key map: none of the sources used here publish a per-platform list of buttons, so no specific key, tap or trigger is claimed below.
What is documented is the shape of the input. Attacks and dodges are resolved through quick-time event prompts that appear on screen during a turn, so the command you press is whatever the current prompt asks for. The practical skill is reading the prompt early rather than memorising a fixed layout.
The one menu location the sources do confirm is the run exit: the Return Home option in the bottom-left corner, which ends a run and keeps the character. Code redemption lives at the Goblin Merchant instead — see the beginner guide for those steps.

Combat is turn-based, but the turn is not a cutscene. Effects are tied to turn timing — some land at the start of your turn and some apply on the first turn — and your attacks and dodges depend on hitting the prompt. That combination is why the same enemy can feel easy one run and dangerous the next.
No damage, defence or critical-hit formula is published, so this page describes the documented loop rather than quoting numbers. Ability cooldowns and status durations are only partly documented, and the combat system page keeps that boundary visible alongside the turn-order detail.
Energy pays for battle skills, and every skill that fires then goes on cooldown. A build with little Energy headroom can be out of options even at full health, which is why a flat magic bonus and an Energy bonus are usually recommended together.
Lives are the resource you cannot farm. A character starts with three, a death costs one and sends you back to town, and losing the last one wipes the character — only certain items carry over. Treat a comfortable Normal clear as the bar to clear before raising difficulty, not a lucky one-off.
Gold buys potions and gear, Knowledge upgrades the hero and unlocks loadouts, and Potions are a mid-fight recovery that you should stock before a boss rather than after you start losing. See the dungeons page for how runs and difficulties are structured.
These systems open in a fairly fixed order because each one needs the previous step to be useful. The list below is that order, so you are not hunting for a menu that is not available yet.
1
Available once you have joined the group. Codes are the fastest free source of Race Spins and Talent Spins, so this is the first system worth touching.
2
Repair the Blacksmith in the village to unlock weapon forging from tier 1 to tier 4.
3
A Talent Spin rerolls the talent that a character has rolled. Race Spins and Talent Spins are separate pools, so a code that grants race spins does not grant talent spins. The sources for spins, in the order the data lists them, are: Codes are the fastest free source and most code rewards bundle Race Spins with Talent Spins; Event and seasonal rewards, including the Halloween event currency route; Robux purchases from the in-game product page.
4
Later in a save, a shrine offers specialised Super Class options, and the Ultra Class needs Sigils from Act 5 and above plus Tomes for some skills. Both are long-term goals, not an opening step.
Race evolution sits behind the same harder content: it consumes an Heirloom and Heart Blood earned from surviving Hard and Nightmare runs.
This is a sequencing of the documented steps, not a measured speedrun. Follow the order so a code, a spin or a first craft is not spent before you know what it is for.
Pixel Lineage is a turn-based roguelike RPG on Roblox, described by the developer as inspired mostly by Terraria and explicitly not designed to be easy. Runs are short, difficulty is chosen before you leave town, and death has a real cost.
It does not, and it says so on purpose. Pixel Lineage runs on Roblox, which is playable across PC, mobile and console, but none of the sources used here publish a per-platform key or button map. What is documented is that attacks and dodges resolve through on-screen quick-time event prompts.
Turn order decides when effects land, but you still act during your side of the turn. Attacks and dodges are resolved by hitting quick-time event prompts, so a fight is decided by your timing as much as by your gear. Skills spend Energy and then go on cooldown.
A character starts with three Lives. Dying costs one Life and returns you to town; extra Lives can come from code rewards and wait in your inbox. Losing every Life wipes the character, and only certain items such as Robux wearables and event items transfer to a new save.
No. They are separate pools. A Race Spin rolls a new race; a Talent Spin rerolls the talent a character has already rolled. Most code rewards bundle both, which is why a code can refill each pool at once without one affecting the other.
Forging unlocks when you repair the Blacksmith in the village. After that the Blacksmith forges weapons from tier 1 up to tier 4, and each forged weapon rolls its own rarity after the metal cools.
