The system

How Pixel Lineage pets work

A Pixel Lineage pet is an invincible battle companion: it acts every round — direct damage, Energy restoration, shields or healing — and cannot be knocked out, which makes it effectively an extra party member rather than a cosmetic follower. Pets are managed at the Ranch in the castle hub, and the strongest rarities are raised through fusion rather than hatched directly.

The Ranch. All pet management happens at the Ranch, one of the castle town buildings. The Ranch must be repaired before pet storage and egg hatching open, and Farmstead upgrades expand how many pets you can hold.

Rules worth knowing first

  • Pets cannot be equipped or swapped during an active dungeon run — a pet egg found mid-run has to wait until you return to the castle hub.
  • Eggs are found on adventures and hatched at the Ranch; leveling comes from won battles or feeding the pet spare gear and materials.
  • The Ranch keeps your pet collection even though characters run on a 3-life permadeath system, so pets are account-side progress rather than run-side.
Rarity

Pixel Lineage pet rarity — level caps and abilities

Rarity sets both the level cap and how many abilities a pet can hold, so it is the first number to read before investing materials. The two fusion rarities at the bottom of the table are the destination; the three above them are the stepping stones that feed fusion.

Fusion

Pixel Lineage pet fusion — matching rules

Fusion is the rarity-up path: matching a pet's family and rarity produces a higher-rarity pet. Legendary and Divine pets are obtained through fusion, so raising rarity is a separate progression step from leveling an equipped pet.

Because the level cap and ability count are set by rarity, the honest question before feeding materials is which rarity you are building toward — a Common capped at level 30 with one ability is a stepping stone, not a project.

The eggs that feed the early rarities come from adventures; the dungeons page covers where the runs that drop them happen, and the combat system page explains the turn flow the companion acts inside.

What this page does — and does not — claim

This page explains the pet system from what published sources record. It does not tier individual pets or quote drop rates, because those numbers are not published by the sources used here.

  • The full pet roster with per-pet stat lines and ability lists is not published by the sources used here, so this page explains the system rather than tiering individual pets.
  • Egg drop rates and per-fusion success rules are not published by the sources used here.
  • Whether every family has a fusion line to Divine is not confirmed by the current sources.
Common questions

FAQ

How do you get pets in Pixel Lineage?

Pets start as eggs found on adventures — hatch them at the Ranch in the castle hub, which has to be repaired before the storage and hatching menus open. Once hatched, a pet is equipped as your active companion.

How do you level up a pet in Pixel Lineage?

Leveling comes from won battles or from feeding the pet spare gear and materials. Each rarity has a fixed level cap and ability count, so the cap — not the current level — is the first thing to check before investing materials.

What is pet fusion in Pixel Lineage?

Fusion is the rarity-up path: matching a pet’s family and rarity produces a higher-rarity pet. Legendary and Divine pets are obtained through fusion, so raising rarity is a separate progression step from leveling the pet you already have equipped.

Can you swap pets during a dungeon run?

No. Pets cannot be equipped or swapped mid-run, so a pet egg found during a dungeon has to wait until you return to the castle hub. Plan the active companion before you leave town.

Do you lose pets when a character dies?

The Ranch keeps your pet collection even though characters run on the 3-life permadeath system — pets are managed at the castle hub and are not tied to a single character’s lives.
