Pixel Lineage Beginner Guide — Start Your First Save Right

Editorial contact: Raymond

Guide last reviewed:

A Pixel Lineage beginner guide that opens on the choices you cannot easily undo: the class you pick at creation, the codes you redeem behind the group requirement, and the Race Spins you should bank rather than burn. Reviewed October 14, 2026 against the sources listed at the foot of this page.

First step

Build a character before you do anything else

Pixel Lineage skills are built around a class you choose when the character is created, and that choice is not reversible in place. Changing class later means resetting the character, and only a few things survive the reset. For a first save the sensible move is to pick a forgiving class, learn the turn-based combat loop on Normal difficulty, and only then think about optimizing.

What carries over if you do reset: Materials, Race, Traits. That is a short list, which is exactly why the first class choice is worth a minute of thought instead of a coin flip.

Codes

Join the group first, then redeem Pixel Lineage codes

Codes are the fastest free source of both Race Spins and Talent Spins, but Pixel Lineage gates them behind community membership. A correct code is simply rejected until the requirements below are met, which is the single most common reason a new player thinks a code is “broken”.

Redemption requirements

  • Join the Pixel Lineage Roblox group (community 362755399).
  • Like and favourite the experience.
  • The community requirement is not optional: a correct code is rejected until you have joined.

How to redeem a code

  1. Launch Pixel Lineage on Roblox and load into the castle hub.
  2. Click the Goblin Merchant stand in the bottom-right corner of the castle screen.
  3. Open the store window and scroll all the way to the bottom to reach the Code area.
  4. Type or paste the code into the Enter a code box and press Redeem.

Notes that trip people up

  • Enter 0y0 with a zero as the first character, not the letter O — it is the most common reason that code fails.
  • Codes are not case-sensitive, but spelling and punctuation still matter. COMMUNITY! needs the exclamation mark.
  • A code can only be redeemed once per account, and a Life reward past your current limit stays in your inbox for later.

A few codes worth knowing on day one: several of the currently listed codes bundle Race Spins with Talent Spins, and the permanent entries (such as 0y0 and TUTORIAL) are the safe ones to redeem first because they are not tied to an expiry date. The full dated list, including the single-source entry that may be rejected, lives on the Pixel Lineage codes page.

First run

How to take your first dungeon run

Runs start from the town, where you also choose Solo or Multiplayer and pick a difficulty: Normal, Hard or Nightmare. For a first character, Normal is the recommended setting because the opening area is manageable and it is the right place to learn the combat inputs without paying for mistakes in Lives. Hard and Nightmare raise the risk and the drop quality, and they are the documented source of the artefacts that race evolution consumes — but they are a later step, not a first one.

Combat is turn-based, but it is not passive: attacks and dodges resolve through quick-time event prompts, so the fight turns on whether you hit the prompt rather than on a hidden dice roll. Skills cost Energy and then go on cooldown, so a build with no Energy headroom can run out of options even at full health. The full loop is documented on the combat system page.

Before you leave a run, know the exit: the Return Home option in the bottom-left corner ends the run and keeps the character. Walking out is cheaper than losing a Life to a fight you cannot finish, and clearing one run safely is worth more than a greedy one.

Classes

Choosing a class in Pixel Lineage

All six classes are picked at character creation. The table lists what each one is built around and how hard the community rankings say it is to play, so a beginner can favour an Easy class and leave the harder ones for later saves.

ClassDifficultyWeapon familyBuilt around
Warrior (S)EasySwords, axes and cleaversFront-line melee with balanced attack and defence
Archer (S)EasyBowsRanged damage with high speed
Fist (A)HardKnuckles, gauntlets and hand wrapsClose-range bruiser that tanks what it hits
Mage (B)MediumStaves and sceptresMagic damage carry with a slow start
Bard (C)HardLutes and lyresSupport and self-buffing
Thief (D)MediumDaggers and kunaiSpeed and burst with no defence

No attack, defence or speed stat tables are published, so this page ranks by role and difficulty rather than by made-up numbers. The classes page explains the Super Class and Ultra Class steps that follow a class choice.

Races

Race Spins: keep the starter and bank the rest

Your race is rolled rather than chosen, and the rollable pool is the 13 races whose published chances add up to 100%. Free Race Spins come from codes first, then event and seasonal rewards; Robux purchases exist as an optional route. The single most important beginner decision is not which race to chase but when to stop spending: Human is more than a third of every roll, and the S-band races are rare enough that a blind reroll will usually waste spins.

RaceRarityRoll chanceWhy it is a target
NightborneMythic0.72%Sustain engine that never stops healing
CelestineMythic1.45%Flat crit, dodge and magic in one package
VesperRare5.8%Rare-tier magic burst that punches above its rarity

Before spending a batch of spins, run the numbers on the Race Spin calculator so you know the chance of a hit and the chance of a total miss. Race evolution, which raises the ceiling of a race you already hold, needs an Heirloom and Heart Blood earned from surviving Hard and Nightmare runs — another reason not to judge a race by its first-stage numbers alone.

Avoid these

Beginner mistakes that cost a first save

  1. Redeeming codes before joining the group. The membership requirement is not optional; a correct code is rejected until you have joined and liked the experience.
  2. Typing 0y0 with the letter O. It begins with a zero. This is the most reported reason that particular code fails.
  3. Burning Race Spins and Talent Spins on day one. Bank them until you have a target and a budget. Spins are a shared budget across the two pools — spending one does not grant the other.
  4. Picking a demanding class for a first save. Fist and Bard are labelled Hard, and Thief is Medium but punishes a missed dodge with a Life. Start with an Easy class and move on once the loop is familiar.
  5. Pushing Hard or Nightmare with Lives already spent. A death costs a Life and three deaths wipe the character. Raise difficulty once a Normal run clears comfortably.
  6. Fighting a losing battle instead of leaving. Return Home keeps the character; a wipe does not. The material loop only pays out if the character survives.
Common questions

FAQ

What should I do first in Pixel Lineage?

Create your character and choose your class first, because the class is picked at creation and changing it later means resetting. Warrior and Archer carry the S band with an Easy difficulty label, so they are the safest first picks while you learn the combat loop.

Why is my Pixel Lineage code rejected?

The most common cause is that you have not joined the Pixel Lineage Roblox group yet — a correct code is refused until you are a member and have liked and favourited the experience. The second most common cause is typing 0y0 with the letter O instead of a zero.

How do I redeem a Pixel Lineage code?

Load into the castle hub, click the Goblin Merchant stand in the bottom-right of the castle screen, open the store window and scroll to the bottom to the Code area. Type or paste the code into the Enter a code box and press Redeem.

Should a beginner reroll their race straight away?

No. Bank the Race Spins that codes give you. Human is more than a third of all rolls, and the strongest races sit between 0.72% and 5.8% roll chances, so spend only once you have a target and a banked budget the calculator can check.

Will I lose my character in Pixel Lineage?

You can. A character starts with three Lives, and a death costs one and sends you back to town. Losing all three wipes the character, and only certain items such as Robux wearables and event items carry over to a new save.

Do I need other players to start?

No. Runs can be started solo or as multiplayer from the town, and solo keeps every drop for yourself. Multiplayer makes harder content easier but shares the loot, so it is a choice rather than a requirement.
